Angled Color Blocks
Angled color blocks featuring colors from the approved color palette are used to help create visual consistency within individual communication materials and across the spectrum of University communications. In other words, color blocks should be applied prominently to publications and Web sites, but not necessarily to every page of a multi-page publication or every page of a Web site. The goal is to create communications that are recognizable as part of the same visual brand identity.
- Angled color blocks normally should bleed off at least one side of an image area (when production parameters allow).
- The blocks may be horizontal or vertical.
- The block should be angled to indicate motion in an upward direction.
- Blocks should form a quadrilateral rather than a triangle.
- Type or photographs may be displayed within the color block.
Angled color blocks for use in print materials are available in the downloads section of this site.
