Color Palette
The color palette consists of colors chosen to represent the University's brand in print and electronic communications. All University materials and messages directed to external audiences must use colors from the approved color palette.
The color palette features two sets of colors: a bold set and a muted set. The following guidelines apply when working with the color palette:
- All University materials and messages directed to external audiences must use only one of the color palette sets.
- When creating materials directed to prospective undergraduate students, the bold color palette must be dominant.
- Use of the University's core crimson or gray colors as a supporting color theme for four-color printed materials and Web pages is strongly encouraged. When creating two-color printed materials in which the two colors are bright red (PMS 186) and black, the red and a screen of black should be used to create a supporting color theme of the core crimson color. Contact Marketing Communications for more details.
- Screens or tints of colors in the palette are permitted.
The appropriate Pantone Matching System (PMS), four-color process, or Web/screen media color specifications indicated must be used to ensure consistent display of the color palette. Due to the inherent qualities of color reproduction and display technologies, the colors may appear differently in spot PMS, four-color process, and screen display applications.
Bold color set
The bold color set must be used for materials and messages directed to prospective undergraduate student audiences. Use of this set is also encouraged for other young audiences and may be used for all audiences. The University's core crimson or gray colors should be used as a supporting color theme when working with the bold color set.
