Graphic Identity Program

Print

Consistent visual presentation of the University’s brand in print is a critical component of the overall marketing campaign. The more readily the institution’s many publics recognize messages from Washington State University, the greater the opportunities the University will have to advance itself.

Consistent visual presentation of the University in print means that the major design elements that comprise the WSU brand—the University signature, the Stone typeface, the approved color palette, circles, angled colored blocks, and off-perpendicular and special-effect photos—are reflected in printed materials.

It’s also important to remember that all printed materials directed to external audiences should be built thematically around the concept reflected in the University’s “World Class. Face to Face.” tagline. This concept can be communicated by showcasing students interacting with each other and with world-class faculty members in world-class facilities. Photos of two to four students and a faculty member actively engaged in a variety of challenging hands-on learning activities is the primary means of communicating this concept visually.

Stationery, Preprinted Shells Ensure Brand Consistency

A stationery package has been developed for use by all units that are part of Washington State University. Using these standardized formats ensures that all campus units will communicate their proper affiliation to the University.

Preprinted shells also have been created to provide departments with a cost- and time-effective way to reflect the University’s brand when producing printed promotional materials.
