Design and Branding

1. Update the visual design to a more current and sophisticated look while coordinating with the University’s existing visual brand.
2. Improve the presentation of the WSU logo and tagline.
3. Include solutions for presenting the WSU branding campaign elements (color palette, angle, circle).
4. Update Web color palette to more closely align with the printed color palette.

Technology

5. Use the new recognized standard technology for Web content presentation, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), as much as possible.

Web Developer Usability

6. Reduce the reliance on graphics and graphic creation/manipulation software to appropriately implement the Web templates.
7. Improve the templates' ease of use for site creation and maintenance.

Web Visitor Usability

8. Improve accessibility.
9. Improve download speed.
10. Add optional third-level primary navigation and improve identification of navigation path and displayed page.
11. Improve the usability of the optional featured links
12. Add optional toolbar for utilities.
13. Add optional breadcrumb navigation specifications.
14. Improve footer organization and its central management.
